[Event Report] Keio Open Forum "World Order: The Dream and Frustration of Globalization"
On November 10, 2025, KCS hosted the Keio Open Forum titled World Order: The Dream and Frustration of Globalization.
The forum featured Professor Emeritus Masayuki Tadokoro of Keio University, author of the recently published World Order: The Dream and Frustration of Globalization (Chuko Shinsho), who delivered a valuable keynote lecture based on his work. In the subsequent panel discussion, Professor Emeritus Masatsugu Naya (Sophia University), Professor Yuichi Hosoya (Director of KCS / Keio University), and Professor Satoru Mori (Deputy Director of KCS / Keio University) joined the stage to pose questions to Professor Tadokoro from various perspectives. The panelists engaged in a profound debate covering a wide range of topics, including the differences in globalization between imperial systems and sovereign state systems, the distinction between empires and regional orders, future scenarios for world order and the factors driving their transition, and the interplay between domestic polarization and the fragmentation of international order.The event concluded with a Q&A session, which allowed for a lively exchange of ideas with the audience.
