[Event Report] The 9th Keio Strategic Forum “Global Communications from the Prime Minister's Office: Beyond Public Diplomacy”

On May 27, 2024, the Center hosted the 9th Keio Strategy Forum under the theme “Global Communications from the Prime Minister’s Office: Beyond Public Diplomacy.”
We welcomed Mr. Koichiro Matsumoto, Director of Research at the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), as our guest speaker to hear about his experiences serving as Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Public Affairs. He discussed how he handled various issues as a global communications professional at the Prime Minister's Office, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tokyo Olympics, and ALPS-treated water.
In the ensuing discussion on information dissemination, participants exchanged views from diverse perspectives on topics such as countering disinformation and crisis management during emergencies.
