[Event Report] Special Symposium: "The Fate of the Western Alliance: Is Unity Sustainable?"

On Thursday, September 26, 2024, we co-hosted a special symposium titled "The Fate of the Western Alliance: Is Unity Sustainable?" with the RCAST Open Laboratory for Emergence Strategies (ROLES) at the University of Tokyo.
Yuichi Hosoya (Director of KCS) served as the moderator. Together with Brendan Simms (Professor, University of Cambridge), John Nilsson-Wright (Associate Professor, University of Cambridge), Francis Gavin (Professor, Johns Hopkins University), Yoko Iwama (Professor, National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies), and Nobukatsu Kanehara (Distinguished Visiting Professor, Doshisha University / Executive Director, Sasakawa Peace Foundation), they engaged in an in-depth discussion on the challenges and potential for deepening the Western alliance from the respective perspectives of Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
